Police investigate death of two killed in dump truck accident

Two men have been killed in a dump truck they were working in, when it overturned and caught fire at a mountain near Atok outside Burgersfort in Limpopo.

The incident happened near the Brakfontein Chrome Mine.

Police spokesperson colonel Moatshe Ngoepe says they have opened a culpable homicide case.

Ngoepe says, “The South African Police Service in Mecklenburg, outside Burgersfort, are investigating a case of culpable homicide which occurred near Atok Brakfontein Chrome Mine. It is alleged that the duo were on top of the mountain operating a dump truck and it is believed that the truck failed brakes, overturned and caught fire killing both people instantly. The deceased were identified as Prince Makhoka aged 22 and Wilson Marone aged 34. Our investigations are still continuing.”
