Police minister Bheki Cele says the police are aware of a plot to kill members of a task team investigating political killings in KwaZulu-Natal.
Cele said this at the memorial service of African National Congress (ANC) activist Martin Sithole, who was gunned down in northern KwaZulu-Natal. Buthanani Shange, a bystander, was also killed.
Cele also said a suspect in the case will be behind bars on Monday.
It was an emotional farewell for Sithole, attended by hundreds of friends and family and ANC members.
