What better way to celebrate Women’s Month, than with a bit of humour. Women gathered at a Kempton Park Hotel in Ekurhuleni to have a good laugh with the play “Single, Divorced and Never Married”.

“Women are strong; women are powerful; women can change the world. So, I wanted to  show women that we are capable of doing whatever that we put our minds to and as far as love is concerned, they should know that we are in the same boat because the struggle is real out there,” said the creator of the  play, Noko Moswete.

“With the pressures that we face during the week with work and our challenges, being a mom, sometimes even being a single mom, we thought let’s have a weekend where we have a comedy show for ladies to come and relax; for them to laugh, de-stress and enjoy time just being together and having a good time,” said the sponsor  of the show, Lindi Mthethwa.

And the audience loved it.

“What I liked about the show is that they empower women to work for themselves instead of waiting for their men to do things for thems and it was an all-women show,” said one attendee.

“It was an awesome show and it’s always good to see women having fun. It’s Women’s Month. That’s what we are celebrating and it was (nice to) see all the ladies out looking beautiful,” added another attendee.

The play will be touring around the country beyond Women’s Month.
