Pitso Mosimane has won 11 major trophies in his eight-year stay at Sundowns

Pitso Mosimane has resigned as the coach of triple champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

The team has confirmed that he will be leaving the club, to take up the job as head coach of Al Ahly, the Egyptian giants who are multiple national and African championship winners.

Mosimane led Sundowns to the domestic treble this season. That League title was his fifth league.

He is also the only South African coach to win both the Caf Champions League and Caf Super Cup.

In all, he’s won 11 major trophies in his eight-year stay at Sundowns.

Sundowns have yet to announce who will take his place at Chloorkop.
