Pilot killed after crash landing in Centurion

Emer-G-Med paramedics attend to fatal light aircraft crash in the Knoppieslaagte area adjacent to the N14.

A pilot who was flying a light aircraft this morning, has been found dead in the Knoppieslaagte area, adjacent to the N14 in Centurion.

Emer-G-Med paramedic responded to the incident.

Spokesperson Kyle van Reenen says the aircraft crash landed into a river.
“On arrival on scene a light fixed wing aircraft was found to have crashed into a river. The pilot who was the only occupant of the aircraft was declared dead on arrival of paramedics. The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services and Civil Aviation Authorities for further investigation and processing.”

In a separate incident, there are reports of another light aircraft that has crashed in Wonderboom, Tshwane.
