The Public Servants Association (PSA) says investigations will continue into allegations made against Public Investment Corporation (PIC) CEO Patrick Dlamini despite his reinstatement.
This comes after the High Court in Pretoria set aside Dlamini’s suspension, ruling it was unlawful and invalid.
The judgment found the former PIC board acted without ministerial and cabinet approval.
The PSA’s Assistant General Manager Claude Naiker says they received reassurances from the Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana that investigations into the allegations levelled against Dlamini continue.
Naiker says, “The allegations that were referred to Mr Dlamini prior suspension remain; in other words, that will be investigated, as the minister reassured us last night (Tuesday). He said that the SIU investigation and the investigation by the Financial Services Conduct Authority (FSCA) will continue to unfold, and hopefully that the investigations will unearth and allow Mr Dlamini to answer to these allegations, or if you have done everything on board, then obviously this will instil some confidence in his tenure as the CEO.”
