Former acting national police commissioner Khomoso Phalane has been accused of benefitting from companies doing business with the police.

Former acting national police commissioner Khomotso Phahlane says he will hand himself over to the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on Thursday with the aim of clearing his name.

Speaking to the SABC, Phahlane says he has been waiting to hear the allegations against him.

Phahlane, his wife and a businessman are expected to be charged with corruption and money-laundering.

In December 2017, police watchdog, Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID), alleged that businessman Keith Keating’s company had won contracts from the police worth around R5 billion from 2010.

IPID also alleged that Keating had paid for several vehicles for Phahlane and his family.
