Petrol price to drop by 29 cents

Motorists can expect some relief at the pump next week.  The petrol price is expected to drop by 29 cents a litre and diesel by 16 cents a litre.

The price of paraffin is expected to drop by 19 cents.

The strengthening of the rand against the dollar offset the higher oil price.

Economists  say the cost of importing oil has also come down because of the strong rand.  The over-recovery for petrol is currently 29 cents for petrol and 16 cents for diesel.

95 unleaded is now expected to cost R14.13 a litre, and diesel R12.06.

2017 saw one of the highest fuel prices in the country ‘s history with the fuel price reaching an all time high of R14.76  a litre.
