"The President's Keepers" details startling allegations of a corrupt and criminal network centred on Jacob Zuma.

Veteran journalist Jacques Pauw’s explosive new book has quickly moved to the international best sellers’ list.

Book stores around South Africa sold out within a matter of hours on Friday after the State Security Agency ordered NB Publishers to cease and desist from selling and or printing any more copies of the book.

“The President’s Keepers” details startling allegations of a corrupt and criminal network centred on Jacob Zuma.

The Revenue Service has also threatened legal action against Pauw.

Advocacy groups have come out in Pauw’s defence.

Lawson Naidoo from the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution says that it is a cause for concern that this is part of a slippery slope towards increasing repression and increasing clamp down on freedom of expression particularly when it comes to issues pointing to corruption and state capture involving those holding high office.
