Patricia de Lille maintains her innocence

Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille says she’s still waiting for the DA to confirm a date for her next appearance before a disciplinary committee.

Proceedings were postponed last week after a member of the panel, Pogiso Monchusi agreed to recuse himself due to a possible conflict of interest.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) Federal Executive chairperson, James Selfe says there’s no decision yet on a request to also have former DA MP, Sheila Camerer recuse herself.

De Lille faces party charges relating to alleged misconduct.

She however maintains her innocence.

She’s dismissed reports that the ANC has approached her as mere speculation.

“The only thing I said many times, I’m hellbent on putting all my effort and energy into clearing my name. My name has been speared in public and must be cleared in public and that’s all. I’m concentrating on that now because I still have to run the City of Cape Town,” says de Lille.
