A 45-year-old pastor who was with a female friend in his car has been shot and killed and the woman raped in Malamulele in Limpopo.
Nothing was taken from the victims.
Police have now called on couples who park their cars in secluded areas to refrain from doing so as criminals target such people.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says they are concerned about what people commonly call lovers spots, where men take their girlfriends to the bushes for entertainment.
He says, “Cases generated from these tendencies are so many and unnecessary.”
“Parking in secluded areas leads to murder cases, rape cases and car hijackings,” says Ngoepe.
He says officers have launched a manhunt for the suspects in this latest incident.
