Parliament extends condolences to ‘V-Mash’ s family

Parliament’s Arts and Culture Committee has extended condolences to the family and relatives of  Vinolia Mashego.
Mashego, who rose to stardom in the 90s with the hit show Jam Alley, died in her sleep at her home in Mamelodi in Pretoria, on Sunday evening.

Sports, Arts and Culture Committee Chairperson Beauty Dlulane says she is saddened by the passing of Mashego.

Dlulane has described V-Mash as she was popularly known, as a person who defined television and entertainment with pure talent.

She says V-Mash was so gifted that she could do things that a few could master on television. Fellow artists in the industry have also paid tribute to Mashego.

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) says Mashego connected with the audience in a special way. “She graced the South African entertainment industry with a unique presenting style that has continued to serve as an inspiration for upcoming as well as established media personalities. Through her outstanding craft, V-Mash won the nation’s heart. She connected with her audiences in a special way which saw her become a household name and has left an indelible mark in the South African entertainment industry.”
