Parliament’s joint Constitutional Review Committee has adopted a report which recommends that Section 25 of the Constitution be amended to explicitly allow for land to be expropriated without compensation. The committee adopted its final draft report on Thursday.
The African National Congress (ANC), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and United Democratic Movement (UDM) have agreed to the amendment while the Democratic Alliance (DA), Congress of the People (COPE) and Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) are against it.
