On the eve of the start of the new school year,  parents and guardians have been warned of taking pictures of their children and posting on social media.

Various warnings are circulating on social media as well as precautionary advice being given. This as excited parents can unknowingly place their children in danger by posting pictures of their school uniform giving information of their schools and where they can be traced.

Parents and guardians are advised to turn off their geolocation and blur the school badge amongst other tips.

Social media law specialist Emma Sadleir posted back to school photo tips.
