The South African Reserve Bank has appointed a forensic investigator to probe VBS Mutual Bank’s affairs as well as the bank’s possible fraudulent activities.
The Limpopo ANC Provincial Executive Committee has welcomed the decision of the High Court in Pretoria, which has cleared treasurer Danny Msiza on some of the allegations in the looting and collapse of the defunct VBS Mutual Bank.
Limpopo’s ANC Treasurer Danny Msiza has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the VBS looting and collapse. The High Court in Pretoria set aside the adverse findings and remarks against Msiza, which are contained in the Reserve Bank’s report, “The Great Bank Heist” on Tuesday.

The civic organisation, SANCO, in Limpopo, is demanding the resignation of the municipal councillors involved in the VBS scandal. The orgnization argues that the councillors are not fit to handle funds meant for service delivery.

The case of 8 suspects linked to the VBS Mutual bank saga will resume on October the eight this year in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Ekhuruleni, Gauteng.
The state says it is in negotiations with former VBS Financial Officer, Phillip Truter. The state says he plans to plead guilty and serve his sentence. Truter has been granted R50 000 bail.
Anti-graft organisation, Corruption Watch, is urging the Hawks and the National Prosecuting Authority to intensify efforts to charge all those implicated in the VBS Mutual Bank scandal.
