Reading Time: < 1 minute

The PAC is calling on President Robert Mugabe to heed the call of Zanu-PF by stepping down in the interests of stability in Zimbabwe.

PAC Leader Luthando Mbinda says his party is satisfied that Zanu-PF is still in power in Zimbabwe.

Mbinda was reacting to the latest developments which saw a defiant Mugabe refusing to resign.

He says: “Initially we thought that this was a coup but we have realised that Zanu-PF is still in charge and the Defence Force they have also handed over power to Zanu PF as the ruling party.”

He says they are hoping that Mugabe will heed the call, more especially after the decision of the central committee.

“So as PAC, we support the will of the people of Zimbabwe and we are just hoping that Mugabe will also follow suit just for the sake of peace and stability in Zimbabwe,” adds Mbinda.
