The Western Cape Health Department says more than 40% of the eligible population in the province has been vaccinated.
The province currently has the highest coverage rate in the country.
Western Cape Health says three million vaccines have thus far been administered in the province.

A total of 60% of persons, 60 years and older have been fully vaccinated.
Of those who have registered and have received at least one dose, the department has managed to vaccinate 67% of those over 60, 55% in the age group 50-59; and 39% in the 30-49 age group.
The department aims to fully vaccinate 70% of people over 50 by December.
