Oscar Pistorius Trial: Week 5, Wednesday 9 April 2014

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Paralympian Oscar Pistorius will continue giving his evidence in chief for the third day on Wednesday in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria.

The courtroom is likely to see once again intense emotion from Pistorius, who could come under tough cross examination from prosecutor Gerrie Nel.

Pistorius stands accused of murdering his model girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, on Valentine’s Day last year.

The State will be most likely hope that Pistorius makes certain concessions to their case’s benefit

On Monday, Pistorius was too emotionally drained to continue and on Tuesday he was too distraught, but on Wednesday however, when he is taken under cross-examination later on, Nel will most likely not disrupt proceedings for the athlete to compose himself.
Advocate Barry Roux is expected to conclude leading Pistorius’s evidence by lunch time.

Subsequently Nel’s cross-examination is expected to last for several days because every aspect of the four charges the athlete’s facing will be addressed.

The State will be most likely hope that Pistorius makes certain concessions to their case’s benefit.
