Opposition parties meet in a bid to oust Zuma

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Opposition parties are meeting as part of a joint effort to pressure President Jacob Zuma to leave office. Among the issues to be discussed is the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) motion of no confidence in the President that they want brought forward.

The motion is currently scheduled for the 22nd of this month. The parties said last week that the country cannot be brought to a halt because of the ANC’s internal battles.

A media conference will be held shortly on the outcome of the meeting.

Meanwhile, the ANC’s National Executive Committee’s meeting is underway at Irene outside Pretoria to decide Zuma’s fate.
