Oosthuizen in a tie for the lead at half way stage of PGA championship

South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen is in a tie for the lead at the halfway stage of the PGA Golf Championship at Kiawah Island near Charleston, South Carolina.

The former Open champion carded a four-under-par 68 in blustery second round conditions for a total of 139, five-under-par.

He shares the lead with American Phil Mickelson. The duo are one stroke clear of former two-time champion, Brooks Koepka, while two more South Africans, Branden Grace and Christiaan Bezuidenhout, are in a tie for fourth – two strokes behind Oosthuizen and Mickelson.

Six of the record 11 South Africans who teed up in second major of the year on Thursday, made the halfway cut.
