Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating after a deadly shootout.

Police are on the scene of the shooting in the Pietermaritzburg CBD near the Brookside Taxi Rank in KwaZulu-Natal where one person has been killed and one wounded.

It appears to be taxi violence related to a turf war over routes. Videos circulating on social media show gunmen running on foot in the roads around the mall as gunfire rings out.

Commuters are being advised to stay away from roads around the Midlands Liberty Mall and the taxi rank.

More details on this story will follow…
