One out of three women are sexually assaulted or beaten, equalling a billion women being brutalised. One Billion Rising is a call to women and men to refuse to participate in the silence of rape and rape culture.
Over 197 countries around the world have already come on board to recognise the activism on Valentine’s Day. Different risings are taking place in Durban, Grahamstown, Marikana, Kimberly, Johannesburg and Cape Town.
