Residents of Olivenhoutbosch in Centurion, in Pretoria East, have started to gather at a local sports stadium ahead of their march against undocumented migrants.
They have accused some undocumented migrants of illegally occupying RDP houses and being involved in crime, including drug and human trafficking.
“We want to hand a memorandum to the station commander and give him a timeframe to ensure his officers take action on the issues we’ve raised. If nothing is done within seven days, we will escalate the matter to the provincial authorities,” says the March and March Movement’s area convenor, Thabo Marota.

He says they want to see change in Olivenhoutbosch.
“About 80% of the people there are illegal foreigners, while South Africans make up only about 20%. On the streets, illegal foreign vendors operate openly, and the police drive past them day and night without taking any action,” adds Marota. – Reporting by Sphiwe Mkhize
