The South African Communist Party (SACP) leader Blade Nzimande has called on people to be patient and allow on-going investigations, including those of the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture – to get to the bottom of the problem.

SACP says it understands the frustrations of members of the public when they experience lengthy electricity black-outs.

Nzimande was speaking during a campaign trail in Inchanga, west of Durban on Thursday.

“As the SACP, we are very concerned about the state of Eskom. This is why we understand when our people are angry about it; we also share their anger but nevertheless we want to say we want to be part of the solution. We know where the immediate cause is, State Capture and looting of state owned enterprises and in particular Eskom was targeted. Looting in many ways including people selling wet coal, poor quality and all that we know is that part of the problem; that is why we say we want to be part of the solution; that’s why we support president Cyril Ramaphosa.”
