Higher Education Minister, Dr Blade Nzimande, has called for justice to prevail as police investigate the death of Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) electrical engineering lecturer, Shan Dwarika.

Dwarika’s body was found in Inanda at the weekend, more than a week after he went missing from Sea Cow Lake in Durban.

CCTV footage shows three men forcing the 61-year-old Verulam man into a vehicle.

Nzimande says two people have been arrested so far.

“It really is a shock. I went there to express my condolences. It is the loss of a lecturer who is in the engineering field. The truth must be told, especially in our public institutions. Two people have been arrested and the police have indicated that they are chasing other two suspects in this regard. We hope they will convict those responsible because the circumstances are not very clear.”
