Residents of ward 27 in the Nyandeni municipality in the Eastern Cape are demanding improved service delivery in their area.
They raised their concerns during a campaign visit of the ANC national chairperson, Gwede Mantashe, in Mbobeleni village near Libode.
SA has a well-functioning democracy with regular credible, free & fair elections.

Residents say their main concerns are service delivery and housing.
”Our problem in this ward is the access roads which are impassable. We do not have houses. A housing project that was brought here is still incomplete. We’ve been complaining for a long time, especially in my village. We have never had houses. But our grievances fall on deaf ears.”
“We don’t have water in our village. They said they will bring water for COVID-19 but we never got it. We are neglected. We also don’t have houses,” some residents say.
