The South African government has congratulated the South African cricket on their 135-run win over India in the second Test which ended in Centurion on Wednesday.

The Minister of Sport and Recreation Thulasi Nxesi paid special tribute to Ngidi.

“Ngidi has demonstrated that if all athletes can be afforded equal opportunities and sufficient support in their sporting careers, then the dream of a better South Africa is possible,” said Nxesi.

“Not only has this 21-year-old young man demonstrated his talent and abilities to the entire South African community, but also ensured that the team does well therefore, promoting nation building and social cohesion. Today, we pride ourselves as a nation that has done well against the perceived No.: 1 cricket national team (India). Once more, well done to our boys for making us proud. The Proteas must be moving forward not take their foot off the pedal, but continue making us proud,” says Nxesi.
