The North West Health Department says the private sector’s investment in health contributes to easing pressure on the public health system.

This follows the National Lotteries Commission‘s funding of a private clinic in Dihatswane village outside Mahikeng since 2021.

The clinic received R3,9 million in the 2024-2025 financial year.

The department’s head of communications, Tebogo Lekgethwane says the province has more of the health sector investment in Bojanala, where mines are assisting us with building clinics and with ambulances.

He says, “However, in areas like Ngaka Modiri Molema, your Ruth Mopati, where there are no mines, we see less investment from the private and business sector. So, we are very much pleased that the National Lottery Commission has come here in Dihatshwane to invest in a health facility.”
