NPA to respond on Moerane Commission complaints

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) will have its chance to reply to complaints of inaction when it appears before the Moerane Commission sitting in Durban on Thursday.

The Commission, investigating politically-related killings in KwaZulu-Natal, has heard from witnesses that a number of cases have not yet been resolved, while other cases have been withdrawn in various courts.

The NPA is expected to explain what is delaying these cases.

Over the last two days police officials have appeared before the Commission, emphasising that their members are doing everything possible to arrest those behind the killings in the province.
