On Wednesday, Trillian and McKinsey were served with summons following for deals they had with Eskom and Transnet.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that summons were formally served to two Gupta-linked companies Trillian and McKinsey for deals they had with Eskom and Transnet.

The NPA last year applied for an order at the High Court in Pretoria to have the companies’ assets worth R1,6 billion preserved.

NPA spokesperson Luvuyo Mfaku says, “The NPA on 14th of December 2017 obtained a preservation order to the value of around R1.6 billion against McKinsey and Trillian for their work that they allegedly conducted for Eskom. Our investigators’ evidence shows us that in fact those contracts were not lawfully issued and tender processes were not complied with.”
