Nelson Mandela Bay’s first female world boxing champion, Nozipho Bell, wants international recognition.
Bell became the World Boxing Federation featherweight champion after beating Unathi Myekeni on points in Port Elizabeth on Friday.
Bell says she is going to relinquish her South African junior lightweight title.
It was a tough fight for Bell against Myekeni.
“She is the champion. I told you she is going to come out strongly. She never gave me that chance to knock her out. That’s what happened and told myself that even if a go the full distance I am going to win the fight.”
