Political analyst Lucas Nemutanzhela says members of the ANC that have declined nomination are acting within their rights.
Nemutanzhela has attributed the fact that big names within the ANC such as North West premier Thandi Modise, Mac Maharaj and Free State Premier Ace Magashule amongst others have declined nomination based on the fact that the ANC National Executive Committee (NEC) is not just about the 80 members but the work within the NEC structures and sub-committees.
Nemutanzhela says that being in the NEC of the party is a full time job.Nemutanzhela pre-empts that the new NEC is more likely to be composed of people that can be considered to be in the Zuma slate.
