The North West government has resolved to speedily intervene in four local municipalities. They are reported to be dysfunctional because of political and administrative instability and service delivery has been affected.

The municipalities are Ditsobotla in Lichtenburg, Maquassi Hills in Wolmaransstad, Moses Kotane in Mogwase and Mamusa in Schweizer-Reneke.

North West Premier Bushy Maape says they are worried about the collapse of services and they have stepped in.

“We have sleepless nights about the situation in Ditsobotla, the situation in Mamusa, the situation in Moses Kotane and the situation in Maquassi Hills. We have established a task team led by MEC Lenah Miga, another member of the task team is MEC Motlalepule Rosho and MEC Sello Lehari. They visited the municipalities and they are compiling a report about the situation. So that we can effectively intervene,” adds Maape.
