A female teacher at Tshefoge Primary School near Jerico outside Brits in the North West has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in her classroom.

According to the police, a man armed with a sharp object, wearing a balaclava entered the classroom full of pupils and stabbed the educator multiple times.

North West police spokesperson Adele Myburgh, “Police are investigating a case of attempted murder, according to information available at this stage, it alleged that a 45- years-old school teacher was in class, she was then apparently approached by her 63- year-old boyfriend, who then stabbed her multiple times with unknown object. The suspect was then assaulted by the community members, police come to the scene. The victim was already taken to hospital, currently she is in a very serious condition in hospital. The suspect was then taken by police to a local clinic, currently also been treated for slight injuries.”
