A 100-year-old man has managed to cast his special vote at Ngobi Village in the North West local municipality of Moretele.

Mosoja Sehone, who registered for a special vote, was visited by IEC officials at home, where he made his mark for his preferred political party and candidate.

Sehone says he has not missed voting in any elections, since April 1994.

The centenarian, who also celebrated his birthday, says it was important for him to vote this year because he wanted to exercise his constitutional rights.

“So we can be free, because we have been struggling, and it seems our democracy it’s subsiding. We want it to be strong, so it can be on the right track. That’s why we are voting because we were not allowed to vote, we were just being bitten. To tell the truth, Mandela fought for us. As he has fought for us let us not stop there, but enforce because he helped us. So let us not destroy and say Mandela said we are ruling our self’s. We don’t get services because our government has a shorthand and it gives with a slow pace.”
