Ten suspects linked to a Cash In Transit (CIT) heist eight days ago in Matlhonyane village in the North West are on Monday expected to appear at the Molopo Magistrate’s court.

They were arrested in Bodibe village on Friday.

Nine vehicles surrounded the CIT van last weekend and the occupants fired shots at it forcing it to a standstill.

The robbers bombed the CIT vehicle completely destroying it. They managed to take an undisclosed amount of cash.

They managed to flee with the cash before setting one of their own vehicles alight in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence.

A bag containing a suspected explosive device was also found on the scene.

Police however managed to arrest the suspects.

The CIT vehicle was on its way to Itsoseng, reportedly to fill up ATMs with cash.
