Two robbery suspects have appeared at the Klerksdorp magistrates’court and have been remanded in custody following the robbery at a Nedbank branch in the North West town last month.
The two men are both from the Johannesburg area.
Welcome Marcus and Charles Anthony Scheepers from Edenvale and Fleurhof near Johannesburg, posed as SBV security officers on a routine cash pick-up.
Dressed in SBV security uniform, they entered the CBD bank premises and collected cash after producing false credentials.
They were handed the money and swiftly left the bank
The tracing operation resulted in the recovery of just over R50 000 from one of the suspect’s home.
Financial and asset forfeiture investigations were conducted by both the Hawks in North West and Gauteng Technical Response Team.
Their bail application is expected next week Tuesday.
