Political Analysts say they are not surprised by the new elected ANC Free State Executive Committee.

They say the PEC is made of officials who were in the Provincial Task Team after the court ordered the disbandment of the PEC in December last year.

Free State Police, Roads and Transport MEC, Sam Mashinini has been elected as the new ANC chairperson at the eighth provincial elective conference in Bloemfontein.

His deputy is former secretary and coordinator of the Provincial Task Team – William Bulwane.

The secretary is former PTT convenor Paseka Nompondo.

Political analyst Goodfriday Mhlongo says, “It is virtually the same guys in the new PEC now this puts the wheel on the spanner in terms of the disgruntled group. There is a rummour that they are going to court during the fourth coming week. One of the issues they will be raising is the very same issues of the conference not being properly constituted.”
