The Hawks have disputed reports that a police officer is among the suspects arrested in a daring cash-in-transit heist in Boksburg, east of Johannesburg.
Over ten suspects bombed two cash vans before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. Five suspects have been arrested so far after a high-speed chase that ended up at the George Goch hostel, south of Johannesburg.
” The Hawks are on a manhunt for the rest of the suspects which are linked to the CIT incident that happened yesterday in the Boksburg area. However we have arrested five suspects so far regarding the incident and they will be appearing at the Boksburg magistrate court on Monday. On the five suspects which where arrested yesterday none of them are police officers,” said Hawks spokesperson, Ndivhuwo Mulamu.
