No major surprises in Cote d’Ivoire squad

Ivory Coast coach Herve Renard pulled no major surprises as he announced his 23-man squad to do battle in Equatorial Guinea. The former Zambian coach who led Chipolopolo, to the title in 2012, opted to stick with the tried and tested in hopes to ensure that the golden generation of “The Elephants” claim success in Africa. Renard kept familiar faces such as Manchester City’s Yaya Toure and elder brother Kolo. Liverpool’s Kolo Touré has indicated that he will retire from international football after the Cup of Nations. Gervinho, Salomon Kalou, Boubacar Barry and Cheick Tiote are amongst some of the other regulars that have been included. Ivory Coast, in group D will play Cameroon, Mali and Guinea.
