The power utility says although the system is stable at the moment, the power grid remains unreliable and vulnerable.
“And will communicate timeously should there be any significant changes. We would like to thank the people of South Africa for their cooperation during the difficulties imposed by the constrained power system,” says Eskom Spokesperson, Skhonathi Matshantsha.
On Wednesday, the power utility urged the public to reduce their electricity usage substantially to avoid load shedding as the power grid was severely constrained. This was due to the breakdown of a number of generating units and some units that had been taken off the grid for routine maintenance.
