There should be no bloodshed in the fight for land: Zuma

Former President Jacob Zuma says there should be no bloodshed in the fight for land. He was speaking in Durban at the National Funeral Practitioners Association’s gala dinner.

The former president arriving to a hero’s welcome and he was showered with praises of bravery for ensuring that radical economic transformation becomes a reality.

Zuma encouraged his audience to fight for economic emancipation and their land, but cautioned against violence.

Jacob Zuma says:”Luthuli said that we are fighting a battle that does not need us to spill blood. But they ended up deciding to spill blood and the Umkonto Wesizwe was formed.”

“I don’t think we need to go through that path again. I think we need to talk about it now and not spill blood.”

Referring to the Ingonyama Trust, the National Funeral Practitioners Association warned it would use violence to protect it.

Muzi Hlengwa  Nafupa president says:”They want to take land belonging to the Ngonyama Trust, they must come we are waiting for them. You don’t dare touch the Ngonyama Trust land. We are waiting.”

Zuma was awarded a life-time bravery award.
