A non-profit organisation, Grassroots Edge, that is operating around Kimberley in the Northern Cape says it is assisting teenage girls who fall pregnant, to stay in school through grants to help complete their education.

There is a high rate of pregnancy among adolescent girls some as young as 10, in the Northern Cape.

Coordinator at Grassroots Edge, Karabelo Dithebe says, “Our ECD vouchers we are offering, we try to cover as many aspects of it as possible even to your pregnant girl child, we are trying to assist with giving them this vouchers until the baby is born so that by the time they get access to grants or any other opportunities that this grant offer can actually assist until then.”
