Non-governmental organisations, MasiSports, says a new sports field which is currently under construction at the Ukhanyo Primary School, in Masiphumelele near Fish Hoek, in the Southern Peninsula, will help create an environment for young learners to build a better life for themselves.
Coaches will use the new facility to train the youth and develop their life skills.
MasiSports Founder, Vince van der Bijl, says their aim is to create a model that can be replicated at other schools across South Africa.
“We work with staff and with the headmaster and what we try to do is to produce better people to make better choices. to become fantastic South African citizens. So life skills, gender based violence, social cohesion, the discipline, the respect all that wrapped in sport, we want to make this a replica table model that can be taken by any school in the country.”
