Ngcobo police attack suspects to appear in court

The trial of the six men accused of carrying out the deadly Ngcobo police station attack in January, is to start in the Mthatha High Court in the Eastern Cape on Monday.

The men allegedly killed five police members and a soldier while robbing the police station of firearms.

Three of the police officers were shot dead at the station, while the other two were allegedly killed execution-style when the gang hijacked their police vehicle.

The attack on the Ngcobo police station shocked the nation, the police moved quickly and within 72 hours they apprehended the suspects who were Seven Angels Ministries members.

During the arrest, seven members of the church members died in the shootout. The church was dissolved after this incident. Strict security measures are in place at the court and the public gallery is also expected to be packed as the interest in this case remains high.
