Police have urged anyone who might have information that could help arrest the suspects to contact their nearest police station.

Investigations are underway following the discovery of a new-born baby in a dustbin.

Paramedics say they found the body wrapped in plastic in a dustbin in Lindhaven, Roodepoort.

The baby was already deceased by the time they arrived.

ER24’s Russel Meiring says authorities are investigating.

“The body of a new-born baby was found on Tuesday morning in a dustbin outside a complex in Lindhaven. ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene at 10h30 to find authorities already in attendance. On closer inspection, medics found the new-born wrapped in a plastic bag inside the bin, located outside the complex. Unfortunately, nothing more could be done for the new-born. The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.”
