The Nelson Mandela Foundation with the Graça Machel Trust and the Kuhluka Movement will host an event as part of the “Remembrance period” to mark five years since Madiba’s passing and to recognise the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence.
Director of Communications at the Nelson Mandela Foundation Luzuko Koti says the event is inspired by what Nelson Mandela believed in, “freedom cannot be fully attained, unless women are fully emancipated.”
“What we have been trying to do over the past two years and I think we are committed to do this going forward, is to highlight and have conversation around a society that cares for its women,” says Koti.
