The special council meeting scheduled for today in the Nelson Mandela Bay metro which includes Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape has been cancelled.

The cancellation is mainly due to the court challenge to be heard on Monday morning against the meeting.

The council Speaker, Gary van Niekerk says his legal team only received the court papers on Sunday and sat until the early hours of this morning to prepare for the hearing.
