Nehawu members picket for performance bonuses

Reading Time: < 1 minutes

The National Education, Health and Allied Workers’ Union (Nehawu) in Gauteng took to the streets of Johannesburg to picket for performance bonuses.

The Health workers marched to the Premier’s office to hand over a memorandum with a list of their demands. This includes bonuses not paid to workers for two years, minimal intake of student nurses and filing of all funded vacant positions.

Nehawu’s Gauteng Provincial Secretary, Tshepo Mokheranyana says, “If our demands are not met today, we’ll give them seven days to respond. If they don’t meet our demands, we’ll have to intensify this action because failure to do so would mean that we would have failed these workers.”
