Ndlovu Youth Choir a beacon of hope for those from rural areas

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Ndlovu Care Group has described the Ndlovu Youth Choir as a beacon of hope to those from African townships and rural areas wanting to be successful. This as the choir’s America’s Got Talent journey came to an end after the choir failed to reach the top five of the competition.

The choir, from Limpopo, took to the stage for their final act on Tuesday with an amazing performance of the song Africa, by Toto.

California’s Kodi Lee, a 22-year-old singer and pianist who is blind and has autism, was crowned the season 14 winner.

The Ndlovu Care Group’s founder, Hugo Tempelman, says this is only the beginning for the choir.

“We imposed on them the sense that they are the young ambassadors of a united Africa seeing all that is happening around us. They started to realise that they expressed hope with their vibrant expression. When they come back, they will not only be celebrated, but they will have a task to carry this torch forward. If they can bring a bit of hope about what could happen to people coming from the townships, I am incredibly proud.”
